custom jewellery design: process

I love working with clients to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces.

Here’s how the process works:

Step 1:
Free 15-Minute Consultation - We’ll begin with a relaxed, no-obligation chat to discuss your ideas. This is a chance to explore your vision, preferred materials, and any special meaning behind the piece. If my skills and your concept align, we move to the next step. This can be done in person, or via email or a phonecall. Please book via CONTACT page

Step 2:

Concept & Quote - After our initial chat, I’ll develop concept sketches and provide a quote that covers materials and my time. The design fee for new work is $100. This ensures flexibility, with up to three changes around the design before any work begins.

Step 3:
Deposit & Crafting Your Piece Once you approve the design and quote, I ask for a 50% deposit to secure materials and begin the making process.

Depending on the complexity and , your piece may take a few weeks to complete. I’ll keep you updated along the way.

Step 4:
Delivery & Final Payment - When your unique jewellery piece is ready, the remaining 50% balance is due upon delivery.

If you have an idea in mind, let’s chat!

Selection of private commissions designs. 2010-2025

Examples of commissioned pieces:

-A brooch with a specifically designed QR code cast in sterling silver.  When scanned with a smart phone, it links the owner to a secret website designed especially for him, as a gift from his wife.

-A memento mori pendant containing the cremated ashes of Jackson's grandparents, sensitively  embedded in the concrete

-18k gold earrings with triassic age sandstone from MONA and gold dust in the concrete mix

-Jean had a ring she no longer liked, so she had two of the sapphires removed from and re set into earrings (photo above)

-As a surprise gift for her husband, Annie commissioned a pair of cufflinks containing a crushed rock sample from a quarry on her husbands' family property in NSW, Australia. The house he grew up in was made from bricks quarried from this site
